James Franklin Littleton, 93, passed away Thursday, June, 17, 2021 at the Arbors in Woodsfield, Ohio. He was born October 06, 1927 In Pultney Township, Belmont County, a son of the late Howard and Helen Stephens Littleton.
Jim graduated from Beallsville High School and was a proud US Army Veteran seeing combat duty during the Korean War. He obtained the rank of Sergeant First Class and was awarded the Bronze Star for his valor. He worked at Bond Hardware for many years and loved to hunt ginseng in his spare time. He was a Christian by faith.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Doty Foster Littleton; a daughter Mary Martha Foster Arbogast; a son James G. Littleton, a special friend, Opal Jenewein; three sisters, Beatrice Watson, Ruth Singhaus, and Esther Barton; also a brother, Robert P. Littleton.
He is survived by a daughter, Norma Jean Foster Welch Hibbits; a son, Samuel Littleton; three brothers Howard J., Thomas C., and Richard W. Littleton; a sister, Joyce Elerick Andrews; also many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Tuesday June 22, 2021 at Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville from 11am until the time of the funeral service at 1 pm with Robert Fraley offering words of comfort. Burial will follow in Armstrong Mills Cemetery. Full Military honors will be presented by American Legion Post 768.
