Bill Phillips, 61, Beallsville, died Thursday, January 28, 2010 in Barnesville Health Care Center. He was born October 18, 1948 in Beallsville, Ohio, a son of Irene Barricklow Phillips and the late Homer Phillips. He was an employee of Ohio Valley Coal #6 Mine near Beallsville; a US Army veteran, a member of Sunsbury Lodge # 362 F & AM and Scottish Rite, Valley of Cambridge. Bill was also a member of American Legion Post #768. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by an infant son and his father-in-law, Paul Schaffer. Bill is survived by his wife of 41 years, Judy Schaffer Phillips; his mother, Irene of Beallsville; his daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Jamie Ali of Cranberry Twp., PA; three grandchildren Emily, Connor, and Owen Ali; his brother, Mick (Phyllis) Phillips of Flushing; three sisters, Sue (Jack) Brown of Jerusalem, Marcy Pandy of Beallsville, and Brenda Craig of Armstrong Mills; his mother-in-law, Eva Schaffer of Barnesville. Friends may call Saturday from 2-4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville where funeral services will be held Sunday at 1 PM with Wayne Clark officiating. Interment follows in Beallsville Cemetery. On Saturday, military honors will be presented to the family at 3:45 PM and Masonic services will be conducted at 5:45 PM.
