Christine "Chris" Ray

Christine "Chris" Ray, 92, Malaga, Ohio died Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at her home. She was born October 27, 1924 in McConnelsville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Earl and Gertrude Sines Roberts. Chris was a member of the Jerusalem United Methodist Church, OES #19, the Acorn Twig, and the Malaga Card Club. Through the years she played an active role in the Beallsville Boosters' Club, the PTA, and any organization which supported the children of the communities. In addition to her parents, Chris was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; two sons, Ricky and Randy Ray; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Ray; two brothers, Oscar and Dean Roberts; a sister, Thresa Hemry. Surviving are her children, Trudy (Roger) Lucas of Middletown, MD, Rod Ray, of Beallsville, and Kristy Kinzy of Malaga; daughters-in-law, Janice Ray of Beallsville and Deb Holstein of Woodsfield; 16 grandchildren, Stacey, Shari, Jason, Josh, Misty, Tara, Traci, Rob, Kevin, Neal, Ricky, Ryan, Tyler, Taylor, Shelly, and Dawnielle; 29 great-grandchildren, Brittany, Courtney, Zack, Ethan, Jake, Riley, Piper, Brett, Cy, Tori, Stacia, Teryn, Dalton, Spencer, Alex, Greg, Kylie, Rylan, Kasen, Kyler, Karlee, Karson, Kroy, Zane, Kyla, Kolby, Kendol, Max, and Shay; three great great-grandchildren, Addison, Logan, and Ainslea, also two additional great great-grandchildren on the way. Visitation will be Thursday from 4pm to 8 pm at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville where funeral services will be held Friday at 2 pm. Interment follows in Beallsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Chris' family requests that memorial contributions be made to "First and Goal Club" c/o PO Box 250, Beallsville, OH 43716.
