Daniel "Dan" Greenlee

Daniel "Dan" Greenlee, 80, of Jerusalem, Ohio died Monday, January 6, 2020 in the Arbors at Woodsfield. He was born March 29, 1939 in Bellaire, Ohio, a son of the late Rollin and Carolyn Kreis Greenlee. Dan and his wife, Sue were the owners and operators of Malaga Greenhouse for 38 years. Dan will be remembered as an active member and promoter of the entire Monroe County Community having belonged to several local organizations including the Rolling Hills Ruritan and the Monroe County Farm Bureau, just to name a few. He also served on the Monroe County Board of Mental Health and the Board of Directors of the Monroe Achievement Center. In the early 1980's he developed one of the first hydroponic greenhouse operations in Southeastern Ohio after having visited a display at the 1982 World's Fair which peaked his interest. In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Sue Greenlee. Surviving are his loving wife of 59 years, Sara Sue Fulton Greenlee; a daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Terry McCort; grandchildren, Jessica (Tim) Shaw, Tyler McCort, Taylor McCort, and Jenna McCort; a great-granddaughter, Alayna Shaw, all of Barnesville, Ohio; a sister, Nancy (Jim) Barrett of Belmont, Ohio; a brother, Doug (Mary Kay) Greenlee of Syracuse, New York; also many friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 8 from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville where funeral services will be held Thursday, January 9 at 11am with Rev. David Cottrell officiating. Interment follows in Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield, Ohio.
