Delmas "Mike" Stewart, 62, of Jerusalem, died Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at his home. He was born October 28, 1948, in Jerusalem, Ohio, a son of the late James and Grace Kinzy Stewart. Mike was a US Army veteran of both the Vietnam Conflict and Operation Enduring Freedom having served in Iraq. He was a retired police officer for the Village of Woodsfield and a retired member of the Army Reserve, 463 Engineer Battalion located out of Wheeling, WV. He was a member of the Jerusalem United Methodist Church, a former member of both the Beallsville VFD and EMS, and for many years, Mike enjoyed playing guitar as a member of "Dutch Howell and the Country Swingers." In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James "Casey" Stewart. Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Susan Cramer Stewart; three sons, Michael (Diane) Stewart of West Salem, Ohio , Christopher (Darcy) Stewart of Cambridge, and Derek Stewart of Jerusalem; two grandchildren, Alaina Stewart of West Salem and Brendon Stewart of Cambridge; three brothers, Dan, John , and Steve Stewart, all of Utah; and two sisters, Debbie Lynn and Ethel Littleton, both of Barnesville. Visitation will be held Friday from 2 to 8 PM at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 AM with Pastor Jean Cooper and Rusty Atkinson officiating. Interment will follow in Jerusalem Cemetery with full military honors by American Legion Post #768.
