Donnie G. Dillon, 91, of Jerusalem, Ohio passed away Sunday, April 28 in the home that he loved surrounded by family. He was born June 30, 1932 in "Dog Hollow" in Belmont County, a son of the late Charles and Bertha Hall Dillon.
Donnie was a retired employee of the former Olin Mathieson - CONALCO plant near Hannibal, Ohio. He was a man of many talents and interests. Over the years Donnie had been involved in timber cutting and logging, however farming and harness racing held a special place in his heart. His favorite horse, "Just Spot," remains his closest friend to this day. He was a member of the Ohio Harness Horseman's Association and the US Trotting Association.
Donnie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Annie McFrederick Dillon, also by two grandsons, Troy Dion Swoyer and Charley Jon Dillon. Left to cherish his memory are six children, Donna (Bill) Weber, Randy (Sharon) Dillon, Mac (ilene) Dillon, and Barney Dillon, all of Jerusalem, Nancy (Dave) Morris of Alledonia, and Audrey Dillon of Barnesville; two sisters, Betty (Marvin) Ward and Mary Kay (Jacob) Haffner, both of Beallsville; 19 grandchildren, Daina (Phil) Sharples, Bill Anderson, Chris Anderson, Amy (Troy) Caldwell, Liza (Brian) Spence, Travis (Trisha) Dillon, Erin (Drew) Diosi, Dustin (Amber) Dillon, Nathan Carleton, Zac Carleton (Jeanie McCutchen), Jani (Davey) Landefeld, Jodi (Doug) Frye, Kyla Morris (Tim Starks), Annie (John) Phillips, Dove (Chris) Winkler, Daniel Morris (Lindsey Brubaker), Alex (Holly) Davidson, Brandon Davidson, and Courtney Davidson; 35 great-grandchildren; also many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home-Harper Chapel, Beallsville, Wednesday, May 1 from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm where funeral services will be held Thursday, May 2 at 1pm with Donnie's grandson, Alex Davidson, offering words of comfort. Burial follows in Jerusalem Cemetery.
