Dorothy Prichard, 101, formerly of Beallsville, Ohio (Wilson Community) passed from this earth Thursday, September 2, 2021 while residing in Homeplace at Midway Senior Center, Midway, Kentucky. She was born June 17, 1920 in Shadyside, Ohio, a daughter of the late Charley and Elsie Sanders Danford.
Dorothy was a graduate of West Liberty College where she majored in English and minored in Art. Teaching was her calling; her teaching career began at the former Sunsbury High School in the Community of Beallsville. Her entire career was spent teaching children in the Switzerland of Ohio Local School District.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry on September 27, 2005; two brothers, Charles and Donald Danford; also a son-in-law, Ronald Butler. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Rose Mary Prichard and a daughter, Diana Butler; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received Tuesday, September 7 at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville from 11am until a time of remembrance at 1pm when stories and memories may be shared. Graveside services will follow in Beallsville Cemetery where words of comfort will be offered by Dorothy's grandson, Mark Prichard.
