Eleanor A. DeLongo, 77, of Powhatan passed to her heavenly home on Monday morning, July 29, 2013 at her home. She was born October 3, 1935, in Powhatan, a daughter of the late Anton and Mary Vehar Margola. Eleanor was a graduate of Powhatan High School and the Ruth Brandt School of Nursing. She had been employed by Bellaire City Hospital, the Community Clinic of Powhatan, and the Monroe County Health Department. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Beallsville. In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Donald R. "Flip" DeLongo; daughters, Barbara (Robert) Phillips of Jerusalem and Bonnie (Brad) Johnson of St. Clairsville; five grandchildren, Heidi Meade, Matthew (Danielle) Phillips, Kala (Justin) Mowery, Jon Perkins, and Sarah (Trey) Schmidt; four great-grandchildren, Uryan, Breanna, and Jaxon Meade, and Baby Mowery due in September. Also surviving are a brother, Michael Kernik of Shadyside and an "adopted daughter," Robin Harper of Beallsville. Friends will be received on Wednesday, July 31 from 5 to 8 PM at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville where services will be held Thursday, August 1 at 11 AM. Interment follows in Jerusalem Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eleanor's name to the Ronald McDonald House, 711 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH 43205.
