Ellen Virginia McDougal, 86, a resident of Heartland Lansing Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Powhatan Point, died Monday, October 25, 2010 in the center. She was born December 9, 1923 near Powhatan Point, Ohio, a daughter of the late John "Jack" and Margaret "Maggie" Heath Baker. In addition to her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Lester "John" McDougal; two infant children, Larry and Dorothy Jean; three sisters, Lottie Seo, Lorena Shrader, and Leona Formis; and a son-in-law, Robert Block. Surviving are her two sons, Gary (Joan) McDougal of Jacobsburg and Bill McDougal of Powhatan Point; two daughters, Margaret Block of Barnesville and Jenny Skaggs of Piedmont; four grandchildren, Gary Dean McDougal, Bob Block, Derek Skaggs, and Danielle Skaggs; three great grandchildren, Emily, Shala, and Evan; two brothers, Nelson Baker of Bethesda and Phil Baker of Bellaire; two sisters, Sylvia (Richard) Podlasiak of Powhatan Point and Wilma (Richard) Ross of Shadyside. Friends and family may call Wednesday, October 27 from 5 PM to 8 PM at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville where funeral services will be held Thursday, October 28 at 11 AM with Rev. Richard Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in East Sunsbury Cemetery, near Beallsville.
