Etta Jo (Wells) Burkhart

Etta Jo Wells Burkhart, 57, of Jerusalem, Ohio passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024 in the home that she loved surrounded by family.  She was born December 9, 1966 in Barnesville Hospital, Barnesville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Rollie and Florence Christman Wells. 

Etta was happiest simply spending time with family. Watching her hummingbirds that visited each summer and making daily batches of nectar for her “friends” not only kept her busy but provided her with hours of contentment. 

In addition to her parents, Etta was preceded in death by an infant brother, Clesson Wells and her four-legged baby, Copper. Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 37 years, Terry Burkhart; a daughter and son-in-law, Chasidy and Josh Pittman of Beallsville; a son, Derek Burkhart of Columbus; a brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Barb Wells of Barnesville; also Kelly and Jeff VanDyne of Beallsville, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many caring friends.

Visitation will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home, Harper Chapel, 52728 Ohio Avenue, Beallsville Friday, May 24 from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm where funeral services will be held Saturday, May 25 at 1pm with Wayne Clark offering words of comfort.  Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery near Miltonsburg, Ohio.
