Eva Mae Schaffer, 85, formerly of Beallsville, died Tuesday, January 8, 2013 in Emerald Pointe Nursing & Rehab Center, Barnesville. She was born September 2, 1927 in Huntington, WV. Eva was a retired seamstress at the former LGAM plant in Woodsfield and a member of East Sunsbury Baptist Church near Beallsville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, on January 16, 2001; an infant daughter; a son-in-law, Bill Phillips; a grandson, and two sisters. Surviving are her children, Judy Phillips, Danny (Vickie) Schaffer, and Sheila (Jack) Groves of Beallsville and Kathy (Greg) Plumly of Barnesville; a sister, Jean Curtis; eight grandchildren, Krista, Jason, Kim, Brian, Trevor, Wes, Will, and Katie; twelve great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 10 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville. Visitation will then be held Friday, January 11 at the East Sunsbury Baptist Church near Beallsville from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery. Eva's family requests that memorial contributions be made to ESBC Nursery Fund, Somerton UMC Building fund, or Beallsville VFD.
