George Junior Perkins, 87, of Beallsville, Ohio died Monday, January 25, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 12, 1933 near Beallsville, a son of the late George and Carrie Yocum Perkins. George was retired employee of Ohio Valley Coal Corporation #6 Mine and a life-long farmer.
Surviving are his children, Donna (Rex) Goddard, Bryan Perkins, Loretta Goddard, Craig (Kris) Perkins, and Melissa (Kiven) Smithberger; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, and many friends. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Lucas Perkins, a great-grandson, Dylan Bable, a half-sister, Almeda Kemp; and three half-brothers, Bernard Perkins, Vernon Goddard, and Carl “Todd” Goddard.
Family and friends will be received Saturday, January 30 from 4pm to 8pm at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville where funeral services will be held Sunday, January 31 at 1pm with Wayne Clark officiating. According to COVID-19 guidelines, face masks and social distancing will be required at both visitation and services. Following the funeral service, burial will take place in the Belmont Ridge Christian Church Cemetery. In keeping with his wishes, George's family requests that rather than sending flowers and keepsakes, memorial contributions be made to the Belmont Ridge Christian Church Cemetery Fund, ℅ Randy Dillon, 51722 SR 26, Jerusalem, Ohio 43747.
