Gerald Crum Obituary

Gerald D. Crum, 88, of Beallsville, Ohio passed away, Wednesday, October 14, 2015 in Barnesville Hospital. He was born November 03, 1926 near Beallsville in Belmont County, a son of the late Roscoe and Freda Howell Crum. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII, a member of the Beallsville Church of Christ, and a retired employee with 21 years of service at the former ORMET corporation near Hannibal. Gerald was a carpenter by trade, he farmed as a hobby, and he enjoyed reading. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Chalmer Crum, Bernard Crum, and Clayton Crum; three sisters, Velma Hickman, Hazel Jenewein, and Zella Caldwell. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Nellie Seal Crum; three sons, Jeff Crum and Gary (Carla) Crum, of Beallsville, and Roger (Anne) Crum of Caldwell, four grandchildren, Adam (Jessica) Crum, Joe (Whitney) Crum, Cody Crum (Megan Huebner), and Staci Crum; nine great-grandchildren, Devin, Brady, Landon, Dominic , Myla, Ava, Chase, Aubree, and Brielle; four sisters, Joan Decker of Navarre, Freda Barkheimer of Massillon, Donna (Bill) Kettering of Malvern, and Patty (Eugene) VanDyne of Beallsville. Visitation will be held Friday from 2 PM to 8 PM at the Harper Funeral Home, where funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 AM with Jeff Rich officiating. Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery with full military honors by American Legion Post 763.
