Geraldine Frances Brown

Geraldine F. Brown, 97, a resident of Emerald Pointe Rehabilitation Center, Barnesville and formerly of Jerusalem, died Thursday, December 22, 2011 at the Center. She was born September 21, 1914 near Hunter, a daughter of the late Nattie and Sarah Beardmore Moore. She was a retired employee of Barnesville Hospital and a member of the Bush Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, John Groves and Floyd Brown; a son, Rodger Groves; a great-grandson Jaycob Groves; a brother, James Moore; two step-daughters, Evelyn Ward and Ruth Ann Lucas; a step-son, Larry Brown; three step-grandsons, Eugene Ward, Jay Brown, and Terry Brown; three brothers-in-law, Ernie Wood, Carl Finley, and Don Kratz. Geraldine is survived by two sons, Nattie (Edna Mae) Groves of Kirkersville and John (Judy) Groves of Somerton; a daughter-in-law, Lois Groves of Jerusalem; four sisters, Margaret Kratz of Roanoke, VA, Gwendolyn (Durward) Blaney of Vincent, Irene (George) Foulty of New Matamoras, Violet Wood of Massillon; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 5 great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Monday, December 26 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville where funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 27 at 11 AM. Burial follows in Somerton Southern Cemetery.
