Gertrud Stephen, 87, of Woodsfield, Ohio (Malaga Community) was reunited with her loved ones in Heaven on April 11, 2020 surrounded by family in person and in spirit. She was born June 24, 1932 in Inheiden, Germany, a daughter of the late Johann and Klara Uhi Arnold. Gertrud was retired from the Barnesville Sewing factory where she had worked as a seamstress. She had a passion for sewing, quilting, knitting, cooking, and most of all, she had a passion for her family. In addition to her parents, Gertrud was preceded in death by her husband, William G. "Shotgun" Stephen; also by three grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Mark and Doug; five daughters, Karen, Linda, Teresa, Stephanie, and Loretta; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; also the spouses and companions of her children and grandchildren. In keeping with Gertrud's wishes, there will be no services. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Arbors of Woodsfield, Valley Home Care Solutions, LLC, Amedisys Hospice, and her personal caregivers for the compassionate care they gave Gertrude.
