Gladys W. Brock

Gladys W. Brock, 87, of Zanesville and formerly of Clarington, Ohio died Monday, January 9, 2012 in Cedar Hill Care Center, Zanesville. She was born May 14, 1924 near Alledonia, Ohio, a daughter of the late William and Mary Pugh Biles. Gladys was a member of the Zanesville Church of Christ and remained faithful to serving God until she was no longer able to attend weekly services. She enjoyed working puzzle books and she loved her cats; she also enjoyed reading the Monroe County Beacon each week. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Brock; two brothers, Kenneth and Leonard Biles; two sisters, Ruth Moore and Bernice Book; and a nephew, Gerald Moore. Surviving are a sister, Katherine Fielding of Zanesville; several nephews and a niece; Lee and Vicci Biles of Zanesville who have provided a home and have cared for Gladys since 1995, Rodney and Sandra Biles of Zanesville, John and Debby Biles, of Franklin, TN, Stephen and Marlene Book of Jerusalem, Tony Biles of Oregon, and Karen Moore, of Massillon. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 AM with Evangelist Jonathan Brown officiating. Interment follows in Beallsville Cemetery. Gladys' family requests that memorial contributions be made to Beallsville Cemetery Association, c/o Tom Coss, 54131 Belmont Ridge Road, Beallsville, Ohio 43716.
