Gladys Mae McDougal, 98, a former resident of Beallsville, died Tuesday, October 1, 2019 in the Arbors of Woodsfield. She was born February 6, 1921 near Bellaire, a daughter of the late Todd and Anna Schnegg Hendershot. Gladys was a member of the Beallsville Church of Christ and was employed as a cook in the Beallsville Schools for 33 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Chuck" McDougal; a twin sister, Grace Rucker; a son-in-law, Rodney Neiswonger; two brothers, Lowell "Bud" Hendershot and Clyde Hendershot; also a sister, Ruth Twarek. Surviving are a daughter, Shirley Neiswonger of Beallsville; three grandchildren, Tara Neiswonger of Gahanna, Tye (Tami) Neiswonger and Tate Neiswonger, both of Beallsville; also one great-granddaughter, Madison Neiswonger of Beallsville. Visitation will be Friday, October 4 from 4pm to 8pm at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville where funeral services will be held Saturday, October 5 at 11am with Minister Colin Morrison officiating. Interment follows in Beallsville Cemetery.
