Hazel Howell, 96, of the Monroe County Care Center, formerly of Jerusalem, Ohio died Friday, December 26, 2014 at the Center. She was born September 19, 1918 in New Martinsville, West Virginia, a daughter of the late John and Lucinda Kirkman West. Hazel was a member of the Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde in 1993, also by six sisters, Mae, Opal, Alice, Ruth, Rosie, and Katherine; three brothers, Marvin, Wilbert, and Lindsey. Surviving are two sons, Richard Howell of Arizona and Randy Howell, of Jerusalem; one brother, Arville (Marilyn) West of Wadsworth; two sisters, Florence Holland and Mary Lu Riley, both of Beallsville; five granddaughters, Kaytlen, Amber, Ashley, Charity, and Holly; several nephews and nieces. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 PM to 5 PM at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville where funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1 PM. Burial will follow in Beallsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beallsville Church of Christ, 52125 Twp. Road 134, Beallsville, Ohio 43716.
