Howard Allar Obituary

Howard "Peanut" Allar, 74, of Jerusalem, Ohio died Saturday, October 25, 2014 in Barnesville Hospital. He was born June 6, 1940 near Jerusalem, a son of the late Clarence and Mary Keylor Allar. Peanut was a retired carpenter with a life-long love of baseball and softball that began during his years of Little League Baseball and continued through adulthood as a member of the former "Monroe Tavern" fast-pitch softball team, as well as many other area baseball teams. Surviving are his brother, Irvin (Myrna) Allar of Beallsville, four nieces, Tia Baker of St. Clairsville, Tanya Bright (Steve Reeves) of Barnesville, Lori (Dale) Richter of Woodsfield, and Tonda (Skip) Carlin of Jerusalem, also 11 great-nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4 PM to 8 PM at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville where funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1 PM with Pastor Jean Cooper officiating. Burial follows in Beallsville Cemetery.
