Hubert Gene Wheeler, 79, of Jerusalem died Sunday, May 24, 2015 in Medical Park Hospital, Wheeling, West Virginia. He was born January 31, 1936, in Belmont County, Ohio, a son of the late Cecil and Lela Foreman Wheeler. Gene was a member of the Ozark Church of Christ, a retired cast house employee of the former ORMET Corporation near Hannibal, and a US Army Veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Shriver, a son-in-law, Jesse Stephens, two brothers, Donald and Richard Wheeler, and one sister, Donna Percy. Surviving are his loving wife of 58 years, Wanda Kemp Wheeler, two daughters, Kathy (Daniel) Clark of Bethesda and Connie Stephens of Beallsville, four grandchildren, Christine Clark (Kevin Gessling), Jessica Stephens, Jaime (Rhett) Swallie, and Tony Stephens (Alyssa Smith); five great grandchildren, Carson, Paige, Carter, Kate, and Paisley; five brothers, Harold Wheeler, Lewis (Marlene) Wheeler, Ted (Carol) Wheeler, Bob Wheeler, and Bill Wheeler. According to Gene's wishes, there was to be no visitation. A private graveside funeral service with Don Thompson officiating was held in the Beallsville Cemetery on Tuesday, May 26.
