Irene Phillips, 88, of Beallsville, died Saturday, September 15, 2012 in the Monroe County Care Center, Woodsfield. She was born January 20, 1924 in Jerusalem, Ohio, a daughter of the late William and Anna Tipton Barricklow. She served as dispatcher for the Beallsville VFD and Beallsville Emergency Squad for many years. In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Phillips, a son, Bill Phillips; 4 grandchildren; a brother Edwin Barricklow. Surviving are a son, Mick (Phyllis) Phillips of Holloway; three daughters, Sue (Jack) Brown of Jerusalem, Marcy Pandy of Beallsville, and Brenda Craig of Armstrong Mills; a daughter-in-law, Judy Phillips of Beallsville; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three great great grandchildren. Friends may call Tuesday from 5 PM until the time of the service at 7 PM at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville with Pastor Jean Cooper officiating. Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Beallsville EMS, c/o PO Box 154 Beallsville 43716.
