James "Jimmy" Mellott

James “Jimmy” Mellott, Jr., 48, of Jerusalem, Ohio, passed away February 27, 2023. He was born February 22, 1975 in Bellaire, Ohio, a son of James “Jim” and Judy Stephens Mellott.

Jimmy was a self-employed heating and cooling technician. He was a man of many talents and interests including hunting, fishing, farming and NASCAR. He was a jack of all trades and even as a child, enjoyed taking things apart and putting them back together.

Left to cherish his memory in addition to his parents, Jim and Judy, are his wife, Cameron Stimpert Mellott; a daughter, Shealyn Marie Mellott; two brothers, Tommy Mellott (Cassie) and Cody Mellott (Mariah); a sister, Hope Mellott; two nieces, Lilly Mellott and MaeLee Mellott; a nephew, Dalton Fulton; his father and mother-in-law, Darrell and Cheryl Stimpert; his former wife, Chastity Mellott; a four-legged-friend, “Happy”; also many aunts, uncles, cousins, special friends, and extended family members.  

Family and friends will be received Friday, March 3rd from 1pm to 3pm and from 6pm to 8pm at the Wilson Funeral Home - Harper Chapel, Beallsville where funeral services will be held Saturday, March 4th at 1pm. 

In lieu of flowers and keepsakes, Jimmy’s family requests that donations be made in his memory to a project that was very special to him initiated by the Monroe County Sheriff's office.  Contributions may be sent to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, c/o “Dive Team,” Attention: Rick Shipp, 47129 Moore Ridge Road, Woodsfield, Ohio 43793.
