Janice Kay Moore

Janice Kay Piatt Moore, 70, of Beallsville, died Sunday, July 19, 2015 in Medical Park Hospital, Wheeling, West Virginia. She was born February 3, 1945 in Barnesville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Donald Piatt and Mildred Piatt Fraley. Janice was a member of the Church of Christ. She will always be remembered for her love of animals which she treated as her family, and her service to children, having volunteered for many years as a 4-H advisor and also an aide at the Christian School in Woodsfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Paul on December 29, 1991, a brother, Billy Piatt, and a sister-in-law, Linda Piatt. Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Freddie Moore; two sons, Timothy Moore of Beallsville and Jay (Amy) Moore of Woodsfield; four grandchildren, Matthew, Brittany, Hailey, and Jenna; three brothers, Charles Richard Piatt of Uniontown, Frank Piatt of Canton, and Robert (Nora) Fraley of Beallsville; two sisters, Ladonna (Ronnie) Moore of Bethesda, and Donna Marie Gray of Florida. Visitation will be held Wednesday at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville from 12 noon until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 PM with Jeff Rich officiating. Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Janice's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Boys Town, 200 Flanagan Blvd., Boys Town, NE 68010.
