Jean Carle, 85, of Woodsfield and formerly of Beallsville, died Friday, May 11, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family and close friends. She was born November 4, 1926 in Monroe County, a daughter of the late Lloyd and Rose Kindelberger Powell. She served as school secretary at Beallsville High School for many years and she was a member of Beallsville Chapter #24 OES. Jean was also a member of the First Christian Church, Beallsville. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by a brother, Don Powell; a son-in-law, David Beveridge; a great grandson, Lincoln Hunt. Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Emory Carle; a daughter, Patricia Beveridge of Woodsfield; a grandson, Nathan (Amanda) Beveridge of Timberlake, NC; a granddaughter, Nicole (Matthew) Hunt of Canal Winchester; a brother, Bill (Glenna) Powell, of Barnesville; a sister, Mildred Paine of Fairfax, VA; three great grandchildren, Bentley, Shelby, and Tyler. Friends will be received Tuesday from 11 AM until the time of the funeral service at 2 PM at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville with Wayne Clark officiating. Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery.
