Jesse Stephens, 59, of Beallsville died Thursday, November 20, 2014 in the Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, West Virginia. He was born March 1, 1955 near Malaga, Ohio a son of Sina Berlile Ingold and the late Lawrence Stephens. Jesse was a retired employee of CONSOL's Bailey Mine. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Sharon Shriver. Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Connie Wheeler Stephens, his mother, Sina of Beallsville, two daughters, Jessica Stephens of the home and Jaime (Rhett) Swallie of Ozark; one son, Tony Stephens (Alyssa Smith) of Beallsville; a granddaughter, Paisley Swallie (known as "Little Bub" to her Pappy), two brothers, Lawrence (Sandy) Stephens of Clarington, and Ernie Stephens of Beallsville; his father and mother-in-law, Hubert "Gene" and Wanda Kemp Wheeler of Jerusalem; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kathy and Daniel Clark of Bethesda; two nieces, one nephew; also several great nieces and nephews. Jesse will be remembered by all who knew him as a devoted husband, father, son, and grandfather, a loyal friend, and an avid ball player and coach. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no visitation. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jesse's name to MACO Workshop, 47013 SR 26, Woodsfield, Ohio 43793.
