James A. "Jim" Johnson, 70, of Clarington, Ohio and formerly of Beallsville died Sunday, November 23, 2014 in The Woodsfield Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born August 26, 1944 near Beallsville a son of Beulah Bolon Johnson and the late Arley Johnson. Jim was a retired truck driver and attended the Woodsfield Church of Christ. He was a US Army Veteran, having served as a Green Beret with the 8th Special Forces from 1963-1966. In addition to his father, Jim was preceded in death by an infant brother, John Paul Johnson. Surviving are his wife, Sandra Palmer Johnson, his mother, Beulah Johnson of Beallsville; his children, Shelly Johnson and Jimmy Johnson, both of Columbus; his step-children, Marky (Sandy) Rosen of Clarington and Sonya (Fred) Dierkes of Upper Sandusky; his sisters, Connie (Bill) Ward and Ruth Johnson, both of Beallsville; a brother, Stephen A. (Teresa) Johnson of Beallsville; six grandchildren, Allison, Ashlyn, Jamie K., Seth, Amanda, and Sarah; also several nieces, nephews, cousins, and several close friends. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 25 from 5 PM to 8 PM at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville where funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, November 26 at 11 AM with Minister Charles Schultheisz officiating. Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery with full military honors by American Legion Post 768.
