John Hamilton Obituary

John W. Hamilton, 82, of Beallsville died Tuesday, January 3 in the Woodsfield Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born October 20, 1929 near Beallsville, a son of the late Lloyd and Laura Decker Hamilton. John was retired from Ormet Corporation, Hannibal and the Harper Funeral Home. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Beallsville, a member of Sunsbury Lodge #362, OES #24, Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge, Aladdin Shrine of Columbus, VFW Post 2792 and he was also a Charter Member of American Legion Post 768. John was a very proud US Army Veteran of the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Eric Lee Crooks. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Evelyn Brock Hamilton; five children, Barbara (Walter) Dornon of Beallsville; Cynthia (Roger) Crooks of Alledonia; Rebecca Hamilton of Hilliard; Stephanie (Bob) Morris of Grove City; and John (Michelle) Hamilton of Beallsville; two brothers, Jerry (Nadene) Hamilton of Beallsville and Jim (Juanita) Hamilton of Barnesville; two sisters, Nancy (Bob) Garrison of Alledonia and Carolyn ( Dale) Caldwell of Beallsville; eight grandchildren: Jason (Heather) Dornon, Tony (Ashley) Dornon, Dawn (JC) Mercer, Justin (Natasha) Crooks, Haydn, Jack, and Samson Wells, Mariah Hamilton; seven great grandchildren: Kellen, Kennedy, and Kasslyn Dornon, Pacyn and Daylin Mercer, Emily, and Katelyn Crooks. Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 8 PM at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville. Funeral services will then be held Saturday at 1 PM at the First Christian Church in Beallsville with Wayne Clark officiating. Burial follows in Beallsville Cemetery with full military honors by American Legion Post 768. Masonic services will be conducted at 8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
