Katherine Fay Fielding, 100, of Zanesville, a former resident of Powhatan Point and Alledonia, passed away November 13, 2014 in Cedar Hill Care Center, Zanesville, Ohio. She was born August 10, 1914 near Alledonia, a daughter of the late William Madison and Mary Blanche Pugh Biles. Katherine graduated from Sunsbury High School in Beallsville in 1932. After graduation, she worked for the Kettlewell family of Jacobsburg. It was there that she met the love of her life, William "Bill" Fielding. They were married in February, 1940 and remained a loving and devoted couple until his death in January, 1999. After their wedding, Katherine worked at several stores in Powhatan including the IGA and Snively Grocery. Katherine was a member of the Captina Church of Christ, where she taught children of all ages about the Bible and Jesus. She and Bill in later years visited several other Churches of Christ in the area. Katherine took her responsibility of serving seriously, helping many families throughout the years. She was also a member of the former Broken Arrow Saddle Club and the Powhatan Senior Center. She had no idle hours and she was always making something; she especially enjoyed piecing and making quilts. Katherine was also known for he delicious home-made noodles and candy. She was always giving gifts and donating to organizations for fund raisers. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her twin, Kenneth Biles, also by a younger brother, Leonard; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Johnnie Moore, Bernice and Carl Book, and also her baby sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and Walter Brock; also nephews, Gerald Moore, George Wiles, Arnold Wiles, and Marvin Fielding. Surviving are a sister-in-law, Jean Biles of Zanesville, many nieces and nephews including Leland and Vicci Biles of Zanesville who took care of her needs in later years; also Rodney and Sandra Biles, John and Debby Biles, Stephen and Marlene Book, Karen Moore, Tony Biles, Dora Jean Wiles, Ruth Ann Meager, Audra McNeil, Rosemary Scott, Lois Bauer, Nada Smith, Fred Kocher, Carolyn Sayre. Also surviving is a special great-niece, Paula Moore and Katherine's name-sake and great great-niece, Katherine Jean Moore. Survivors also include many great, great-great, and great great great-nieces and nephews, too numerous to mention, yet who were all very special to their Aunt Katherine. Also surviving are very special friends, Alice and Marvin Perkins of Beallsville, who took care of Katherine prior to her move to Zanesville. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 PM to 5 PM at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville, where funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 AM officiated by Evangelist Kim McFarland, a dear friend from the Somerton Church of Christ. Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to Captina Church of Christ, c/o Brenda Brandon, 52525 Twp.
