Leland John Truex

Leland John Truex, 90, of North Fort Myers, Florida died October 3, 2017 in Promise Hospital of Fort Myers. He was born October 17, 1926 on the family farm near Beallsville, one of seven children born to John and Celeste Pittman Truex. Leland was a United States Army Veteran of WWII and he proudly continued to make a career of serving his country in the Army until his retirement. He was a member of the North Fort Myers Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, Leland was preceded in death by six siblings, Glenn Truex, Russell Truex, Ray Truex, William Truex, Dessie Powell, and Viola Varner. Visitation will be Friday, October 6 at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville from noon until the time of the funeral service at 2pm with Minister J.D. Conley officiating. Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery with full military honors by American Legion Post 768.
