Marvin Friday, 88, formerly of Jerusalem, Ohio, died Sunday, September 12, 2021 in Emerald Pointe Nursing and Rehab Center, Barnesville, Ohio. He was born February 19, 1933 in Jerusalem, Ohio, a son of the late Harold and Ruby Bennett Friday.
Marvin was a member of the Jerusalem Church of Christ. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He enjoyed Country music and watching Westerns and in his younger years he loved playing softball. Marvin will be remembered for his friendliness and his smile.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Donna; also by three brothers-in-law, Jim Callow, Walter Cook, and Dave Boughner.
Left to cherish his memory are five sisters, Mary Kay Cook, Sue Callow, Nancy Moose, Beverly Friday, and Rhonda Boughner; a brother, Steve (Peg) Friday; a special cousin, Bob (Jackie) Bennett; a close friend, Jim Jones; 16 nieces and nephews; numerous great and great-great-nieces and nephews; also many people whose lives he touched by his kindness.
Masks are optional for visitation at the Harper Funeral Home Tuesday, September 14 from 3pm to 7pm and again Wednesday, September 15 from 11am until the time of the funeral service at 1pm with Jeff Rich officiating. Burial follows in Jerusalem Cemetery.
Marvin's family would like to thank the entire staff at both Emerald Pointe Nursing and Rehab Center, Barnesville and also at the former Monroe County Care Center, Woodsfield for the excellent and compassionate care that Marvin received over the years while residing at both facilities.
