Mathew Edward Holiday, 40, of Cameron, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Friday, September 9, 2022 at his home, following a long and brave battle with cancer. He was born May 20, 1982 in Bellaire, Ohio, a son of Debra Gallaher Holiday and Paul Holiday.
Mathew attended the Church of Christ. He enjoyed riding 4 wheelers, spending time in the woods, and he was interested in all things concerning wolves. He loved reading about wolves and studying their habits.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother and step-father, Debra Holiday and Walter Busche; his father, Paul Holiday; four siblings, Stephen (Loraine) Holiday, Crystal (Adam) Ossa, Paul Holiday, and Charles Busche; his maternal grandmother, Patricia Gallaher; his aunts, Bonnie O'Hara, Brenda Bryan, Betty Jane Ferguson, and Linda (Bobby) Baker; an uncle, Charles Gallaher; two nephews, Ridge and Devin Holiday; also his special friends, Annie Cunningham and Henry Cunningham. Mathew was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Charles Gallaher; his paternal grandparents, Johnny and Mamie Holiday; also an aunt, Hilda Markley.
Friends and family will be received Tuesday, September 13 from 12 noon until the time of the funeral service at 2pm with Pastor Kyle Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Beallsville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers and keepsakes, Mathew's family asks that memorial contributions be made to Wilson Funeral Homes, 920 National Road, Bridgeport, Ohio 43912 to help with expenses.
