Melville Reed McFrederick, 76, of Jerusalem, Ohio died Monday, September 26, 2016 while a patient in The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio. He was born July 31, 1940 near Beallsville, Ohio a son of the late Melville Wilson and Anna Laura Reed McFrederick. He was a retired millwright at the former ORMET Rolling Mill near Hannibal, Ohio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joe McFrederick and a sister, Mary Ellen Howell. Surviving are his wife of almost 50 years, Sandra Nolan McFrederick; five children, Reeda (Bob) Erbentraut of Atoka, Tennessee, Mel McFrederick (Tami Downs) of Beallsville, Lori (Bob) Sloane of Hernando, Florida, Gina (Greg) Wehr of Barnesville, and Beth (Gary) Lucas of Somerton; two sisters, Annie (Don) Dillon of Jerusalem and Miriam (Delbert) Cornett of Zanesville; one brother, Rod McFrederick (Helen Doudna) of Beallsville; 11 grandchildren: Melanie, Jason, Erika, Kathleen, Megan, Nate, Rachel, Sam, Emily, Kendal, and Addison; ten great-grandchildren: Brylee, Allie, Emma, Amber, Cheyenne, J.R., Harrison, Alannah, Kymara, and Hathem; also several nieces and nephews. Melville Reed McFrederick will fondly be remembered for his love of anything with a motor, which was second only to his love and dedication to his wife, his children, and his community. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11am with Pastor Jean Cooper officiating. Internment will follow in Jerusalem Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends and family are invited to make memorial contributions to the charity of their choice. Some of the organizations which have special meaning to the McFrederick family are organizations associated with Alzheimers' Research and Care or any organizations which promote Autism Awareness.
