Miriam Giffin Kinney, 77, of Jerusalem, died Thursday, January 15, 2015, near Beallsville while staying at the home of her son. She was born March 26, 1937 near Bellaire, a daughter of the late Robert Paul and Laura Beatrice Althur Giffin. Miriam was a retired dietary supervisor at Barnesville Hospital and also worked for several years at the Belmont County ASC office; she attended the Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church and was a member of the Rock Hill Presbyterian Church. She and her husband, Ralph were 4H advisors for many years as well as members of the Belmont Grange. Miriam will always be remembered for her devotion to her family, her love of cooking, and her dedication to her community. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; a son, Joseph; and a grandson, Jonathan. Surviving are six children, Bob Kinney of Jerusalem, Donna (Joe) Baker of Somerton, Cecil (Betsy) Kinney of Beallsville, Richard (Dyann) Kinney of Jerusalem, Patti Heath of Beallsville; and Brian "BJ" (Nicole) Kinney of Jerusalem; 22 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Paul (Emma) Giffin of Cadiz, Chester (Linda) Giffin of Bellaire, Glenn (Emma) Giffin of Martins Ferry; and a sister, Carol (Don) Carman of Barnesville. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville where funeral services will be held Monday at 1 PM with Rusty Atkinson officiating. Burial follows in Beallsville Cemetery.
