Nelson Onward Mobley

Nelson O. Mobley, 95, of Paris, Ohio died Monday, May 21, 2018 in Alliance Community Hospital. He was born February 16, 1923 near Beallsville, Ohio, a son of the late Leslie and Alta Taylor Mobley. Nelson attended the First Christian Church in Beallsville. He was a retired employee of Macomber Steel Company where he worked as a welder for years. Nelson was a man of many talents and interests. He was a skilled furniture maker and furniture restorer, an award winning welder, and an avid hunter and fisherman. He served as a valued athletic coach for years, having coached baseball, basketball, track, and cross-country teams. Preceding him in death were his loving wife, Nora Lee Crum Mobley; an infant daughter,Theresa; a son, Greg; a granddaughter, Tera Joy; two brothers, Herman and James Mobley; a sister, Jessie Taylor; also a special friend and companion, Hazel Kanzigg. Surviving are four children, Mark Mobley of Massillon, Sheila (Clark) Harter of East Canton, Jacqueline (David) Beck of Canton, Lorie (Paul) Bowman of Alliance; a brother, Homer Mobley; four sisters, Mary Conaway, Grace Sell, Pearl Harris, and Freda Phillips; 11 grandchildren, Melissa, Marcus, Josh, Christina, Teresa, Julia, April, Michael, Katy, Stacy, Shannon; 13 great-grandchildren. Friends and family may call Friday, May 25 from 6pm to 8pm at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville where funeral services will be held Saturday, May 26 at 11am. Burial will follow in Beallsville Cemetery.
