Ora Riley Obituary

Ora W. Riley, 93, formerly of Beallsville died Saturday, January 12, 2013 at his home in Brookpark, Ohio. He was born January 20, 1919 in Armstrong Mills, a son of the late Harry and Mary Carpenter Riley. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII, a retired employee of the former Ohio Crankshaft Industry, a member of the Beallsville First Christian Church, and American Legion Post 768. In addition to his parents, Ora was preceded in death by three sisters, Lorena Groves, Lela Jarrett, and Beulah Neff, also by a brother, Starling Riley. Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Dessie Smith Riley; his children, Bonnie (Ray) White, Dixie (Greg) Baran, Patsy (Russ) Chesbro, Jerry (Phoebe) Riley, Bobbie (Frank) Chesbro, Tom (Joann) Riley, and Rodger (Nellie) Riley; two sisters, Ruth Thornberry of Beallsville and Dorothy (Harry) Shaffer of Woodsfield; 25 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Wednesday 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 AM with Wayne Clark officiating. Interment follows in Beallsville Cemetery with full military honors by American Legion Post 768.
