Pastor Jeff Cox, 51, of Beallsville went home to Heaven on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at the James Cancer Center, Columbus, Ohio. He was born March 23, 1961 in Cincinnati, Ohio, a son of the late Franklyn and Geraldine Sutter Cox. Pastor Cox has faithfully served as pastor of the East Sunsbury Baptist Church, near Beallsville since 2003. He was passionate about missions and the ministry and lived his faith fervently. He was adored by his wife and children and will be greatly missed. Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Laurie Hutton Cox; his children, Katie (Mark) McElreath of Powell, TN, Kelsey, Kyle, Kaleb, and Kassie Cox, all of Beallsville; a granddaughter, Macy McElreath; three siblings, Patti (Vic) Labutes of Camdenton, MO, Elaine Cox and Terry Cox, both of Bell, FL. In addition to his parents, Pastor Cox was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Kelley Brown and a brother-in-law, Rick Tenenoff. Visitation will be held Thursday 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the East Sunsbury Baptist Church near Beallsville where a celebration of his life will be held Friday at 11 AM. Interment will follow in East Sunsbury Cemetery. It was the wish of Pastor Cox that in lieu of flowers, friends and family may send memorial contributions to help his wife and children with expenses.
