Pauline Harper Obituary

Pauline A. Harper, 99, a resident of the Woodsfield Nursing and Rehab Center, and formerly of Beallsville, passed away Monday, September 8, 2014 at the Center. She was born May 23, 1915 in Jerusalem, Ohio, a daughter of the late Everett and Sarah Simpson Baker. In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by a daughter, Rosalyn Harper Clift Wedderburn; two brothers, Nelson Baker and Leland Baker; a sister, Rosalie Baker; and an infant great-granddaughter. Surviving are a son, Gary Harper of Lakewood, Colorado, a granddaughter, Kathy Clift Eads of Aurora, Colorado; three great grandchildren, Jessi, Billy, and Levi Eads; also her dear friend, Delores Burrow. Pauline was a retired elementary teacher; her career spanned 46 years with teaching positions in Clarington, Malaga, Woodsfield, and Beallsville. She was a member of the Beallsville Church of Christ and was also active in various civic organizations in and around the Beallsville community. She positively touched the lives of many people through her years of teaching and community involvement; her generosity, good nature, and dedication to educating children will always be remembered by anyone who had the good fortune to have known her. Throughout the years, Pauline earned the love and respect of students and parents alike; her compassion, her humor, and her positive attitude will be her legacy. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville, where funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1 PM with Minister Jeff Rich officiating. Interment follows in Jerusalem Cemetery.
