Peggy Alice Lucas, 68, of Beallsville died Tuesday, October 12, 2010 in Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, West Virginia. She was born March 29, 1942 near Beallsville, a daughter of the late Ray and Velma Crum Hickman. Peggy loved to travel, taking hundreds of pictures documenting her adventures to China, Iceland, Venice, Australia, Europe, Mexico, Alaska, and Hawaii, as well as the Continental United States. She had a special love of the western states, where she and Ron spent a summer working and hiking in Yellowstone National Park. She found great joy in taking pictures of her flowers and watching birds. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Beallsville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Neal Hickman. Surviving are her husband of 49 years, Ron; two daughters, Kim (Philip) Stephens of Florence, South Carolina, Kelly Lucas of Lucas, Ohio, a son, Kyle Lucas and his girlfriend, Alison Ritchie of Columbus, Ohio; four grandchildren, Chad (Erin) Stephens, Marc (Jordie) Stephens, Carmen Stephens, and Lucas Stephens; a sister, Norma Hoff of Antioch, and a brother, Dean (Shirley) Hickman of Virginia. Visitation will be held Friday, October 15 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville where funeral services will be held Saturday, October 16 at 11 AM with Joshua Hetrick officiating. Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery.
