Randy Thornberry Obituary

Randy Merle "Dude" Thornberry, 69 of Beallsville, Ohio passed away Monday, September 25, 2017. He was born on March 13, 1948 in Beallsville, the oldest son of Ruth Riley Thornberry and the late Hollis "Tume" Thornberry. Randy attended Buckeye Boys' State in 1965 and graduated from Beallsville High School in 1966 where he excelled in Basketball and Track. Randy was a true Blue Devil at heart; he enjoyed attending and supporting all of the athletic programs either from the bleachers or by assisting the coaching staff. He could often be seen out in the public proudly wearing his BHS Blue. He was an avid Cleveland Indians and Ohio State fan. Randy attended West Liberty State College and was an employee of the former North American Coal Company #5 Mine. His interests included family, music, hunting, fishing, and outdoor activities. He was a member of the Beallsville Sportsman's Club. On August 16,1968 he married Mary Adams Thornberry, his wife of 49 years. Randy was a devoted, loving father and grandfather and a dear friend to all who knew him. He is survived by his mother, Ruth; wife, Mary; son, Travis (Christan) Thornberry; daughter, Erica, (Eric) Cramer; son-in-law, Brian Isaly, all of Beallsville; five grandchildren Kaylan, Trent, Tyler, Lexi, and Emery; four great grandchildren, Karly, Brooklynn, Brady, and Claudia; two brothers, Bradley (Karen) Thornberry of Beallsville and Jeffrey (Theresa) Thornberry of Bethesda; several nieces and nephews. Preceding Randy in death were his father, Hollis; his daughter, Kyla Thornberry Isaly; and a brother, Gregory Allen Thornberry. Visitation will be Saturday, September 30 from 5pm to 8pm at Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville where funeral services will be held Sunday, October 1 at 2pm with Brother Charles Wolfe officiating. Burial follows in Beallsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to the family,
