Robert D. Mobley

Robert D. "Bob" Mobley, 77, of Beallsville died Monday, August 19, 2013 in Woodsfield Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born October 31, 1935 near Beallsville, a son of he late Wayne and Sylvia Pittman Mobley. He was a member of the Church of Christ, Beallsville. He retired after 52 years of service as the greens keeper at both Switzerland of Ohio Golf Course and Horseshoe Bend Golf Course. Robert was known for his sense of humor, his loyalty, and his ability to fix anything. He had a deep love and respect for farming and all things associated with his farm; he loved the land, the animals, the tractor, and even the hard work. Surviving are his loving wife of nearly 18 years, Charlotte Truex Stewart Mobley; five children, Tammy (Roger) Elliott of McLean, VA, Kim (Philip) Johnson of Dublin, Wayne (Mandy) Mobley of Jacobsburg, Christy (Terrance) Lumpkins of Columbus, Sarah (Nick) Schilling of Barnesville; two stepsons, Jason (Melissa) Stewart and Jeremy (Nikki) Stewart, both of Ashland; three siblings, Starling (DeJon) Mobley of Ashville, Harold (Barbara) Mobley of Beallsville, and Christina Hastings of Massillon; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one great grandson; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by a brother, Holley. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville and Friday from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM at the Beallsville Church of Christ with Minister Keith Ball officiating. Burial will follow in Jerusalem Cemetery.
