Sam Post Obituary

Sam Post, 89, of Beallsville, Ohio formerly of New Martinsville, West Virginia, died Sunday, November 15, 2015 at his home. He was born May 20, 1926 in Belpre, Ohio, the only son of the late Warden and Sarah Frye Post. Sam was a retired long-distance truck driver, a US Navy Veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict, also a member of the Beallsville Church of Christ and BASS. He had enjoyed fishing all of his life, but his real passion was Blue Grass Music. He was the founding member of "Mountain State Blue Grass Express," which continues to perform to this very day. In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by wives, Mary Margaret Post, Violet Clara Post, and Hazel Etta Elizabeth Post; a son, Michael Wayne Post; three grandsons, Michael Martie, DJ Post, and Michael Alan Post; a great-grandson, Austin Ray Van Camp; also a son-in-law, Robert Roberts. Surviving are his children, Roger (Cathy) Post of Middlebourne, WV, Patty Roberts of Dighton, MA, Buddy Post (Carlene Richmond) of Moundsville, WV, Alan (Pamela) Post of Pittsburgh, PA, Lori Post (Mike Dunlap) of Jacksonburg, WV, Daniel (Judy) Post of Warren, MI, Randy (Nola) Post of Fort Wayne, IN, Darrell "Jeff" (Lynn) Post of New Martinsville, WV, Sam Post of Beallsville, and David Post of Uniontown, PA; a step-daughter, Roseanna (Ron) Johnson of Walker, WV; 21 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4 PM until the time of the funeral service at 6 PM at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville. Graveside services will be conducted Thursday at 10 AM in Paden Memorial Gardens near Paden City with full military honors by VFW Post 6327, Sistersville, WV.
