Shirley L. Perkins, 80, of Beallsville died Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at her home. She was born October 3, 1935 near Armstrong Mills, Ohio, a daughter of the late Howard and Stella Dornon Lucas. She was a member of the Armstrong Mills United Methodist Church and Beallsville Chapter 24, Order of Eastern Star. Shirley was a contract mail carrier with Star Mail Transport; she had retired after 33 years as a school bus driver with the Switzerland of Ohio Local School District, 27 years as an employee of the former Kaufmann's department store, and many years as an Avon representative. However in her heart and mind, she never retired from her favorite vocation, farming. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her sisters, Marjorie Crum, Flora Mae Datkuliak, Georgia Myers, and an infant brother; also a great grandson, Dylan Bable. Surviving are her husband of 63 years, George "Jr." Perkins; five children, Donna (Rex) Goddard, Bryan Perkins, Loretta Goddard, Craig (Kris) Perkins, and Melissa (Kiven) Smithberger; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leroy (Nina Lee) Lucas and Robert (Betty) Lucas; two sisters Ruth Schumacher and Sharlene LeBerth; many, many nieces and nephews. Friends and family may call at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville, Thursday from 2 PM to 4 PM and 7 PM to 9 PM, where funeral services will be held Friday at 11 AM with Pastor Rusty Atkinson officiating. Interment will follow in Belmont Ridge Cemetery near Beallsville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Armstrong Mills United Methodist Church,
