Shirley Loretta (Crooks) Pittman

Shirley L. Pittman, 85, of Beallsville, Ohio passed away peacefully Friday, April 14, 2023 in Emerald Pointe Health and Rehabilitation Center, Barnesville, Ohio. She was born August 4, 1937 in Mead Township, Belmont County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Bruce and Pearl Rothwell Crooks.

Shirley was a member of the former Mellott Ridge Church of Christ and was presently a member of the Washington Street Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening and yard work and for years she happily worked side-by-side on the family farm with her devoted husband, the late John A. Pittman.  Shirley was a woman of many talents and interests, but anyone who knew her acknowledged that she was happiest simply spending time with her family and her church family. 

In addition to her parents and her husband, John, Shirley was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Lisa Price Pittman and 11 siblings.  Left to cherish her memory are a son, Larry Pittman of Beallsville (Becky Harlan of Sardis); two grandsons, Jonathan (Morgan) Pittman of Sarahsville and Garrett Pittman of Beallsville; two great-grandsons, Elijah and Asher Pittman; two sisters, Frances Kinzy of Beallsville and Garnett Piatt of Lewisville; also many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received Monday, April 17 from 4pm until 8pm at the Wilson Funeral Home - Harper Chapel, Beallsville, where funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 18 at 1pm. Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers and keepsakes, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Washington Street Church of Christ, 52771 Washington Street, Beallsville, Ohio 43716.
