Shirley Ann (Mann) Smith

Shirley Ann Smith, 95, of Beallsville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 31, 2025 at the Country Club Rehabilitation Campus, Bellaire, Ohio.  She was born November 22, 1929 in Lewisville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Vernon and Ruby Christman Mann.

Shirley was a Christian by faith.  She loved to sew, knit, and crochet; years ago she had been employed by the former Barnesville Sewing Factory.  She often made quilts and sweaters for family and friends. Shirley will be remembered by many for not only her kind spirit, but also for the beautiful hand-made prayer shawls which she gifted to grieving families.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Smith on January 17, 1998; a brother, James Mann; a daughter, Barbara Reed Cox, and a son-in-law, Bill Cox.

Left to honor her memory are her children, William (Bonnie) Reed, Jr, Robert (Sandy) Reed, Cindy Smith, and Cecil (Deena) Smith; a step-son, Jim (Carol) Warsinskey; 12 grandchildren, Anthony, Pamela, Bill, Adam, Mindy, Mandy, Waylon, Stacia, Andrea, Tonya, Elijah and Faith; also 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Norma Moore and Marilyn (Jim) Simmons; also a sister-in-law, Barbara Mann.  

Family and friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home – Harper Chapel, 52728 Ohio Avenue Beallsville on Thursday, February 6th, from 4pm to 8pm and Friday, February 7th, from 10am until the time of the service at 11 am.  Burial will follow in Beallsville Cemetery.
