Valerie Louise LaFaber, 32, a resident of Echoing Meadows Residential Facility, Athens, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013 in O'Blennis Hospital, Athens. She was born January 27, 1981 in Lexington, KY, a daughter of Rev. Donald and Deanna Miller LaFaber. Valerie graduated from Beacon School and attended ATCO Workshop; she enjoyed her movies, her collection of family photographs, music, and books. Valerie had a great love for the American Flag. Surviving in addition to her parents of Martinsburg, WV, are her brother, Josh, whom she dearly loved; her nephews, Christian, Gabriel, Eric, and Anthony, all of Martinsburg; her grandmothers, Virginia LaFaber of Beallsville and Violet Miller of Woodsfield; uncles and aunts, Denzil and Jane LaFaber of Blufton, SC, Blaine and Linda LaFaber, Wayne LaFaber, Clarke and Jan Miller Haren, all of Columbus, Jim and Juanita LaFaber Hamilton of Barnesville, and Jerry and Beverly Miller Everhart of Findley; many cousins; and also the staff at Echoing Meadows who have lovingly cared for Valerie since 1998. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Myles LaFaber and Howard Miller. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 28 at the Harper Funeral Home from 6 to 8 PM. Graveside services will be conducted July 29 at 10 AM in Beallsville Cemetery with Rev. Richard Wilson officiating. A memorial service will be held for Valerie at Echoing Meadows in Athens Thursday, August 1 at 2 PM. Memorial contributions may be made in Valerie's name to Echoing Meadows Residential Facility, c/o Mark Hutchinson, 319 W. Union Street, Athens, OH 45701.
